Commonly known as Globe Amaranth, Gomphrena globosa is a charming annual prized for its long-lasting flowers and excellent drought tolerance. This bushy plant produces masses of stunning white globe-shaped blooms with lime green centres, held above soft foliage from early summer through to the first frosts. The flowers retain their colour exceptionally well, making them perfect for borders, containers and dried flower arrangements.
Thriving in well-drained soil and a sunny position, Gomphrena is ideal for adding reliable colour to bedding and wildlife-friendly gardens. Deadheading spent blooms regularly will encourage continuous flowering throughout the season, while occasional trimming helps maintain a neat, compact habit. Pair with salvias for a bright, pollinator-friendly planting scheme bursting with summer colour. A fantastic choice for gardeners seeking coloruful displays with enduring seasonal interest.
