Olea Europa - Large Mediterranean Olive Tree - circa 160cms tall

Product ref: T70030

Availability: Out of stock

Elegant, grey-green leaves retained all year and tiny, fragrant, creamy-white flowers, followed by edible, green fruits.

This olive tree makes an excellent specimen for a sunny, Mediterranean-style garden.

Slow-growing with a nice stem and attractive silvery leaves, making it perfect for planting in a large container.

Admired on your holidays it can now be admired at home as the Olive flowers during the Summer with ample green edible fruit appearing in the Autumn, ripening to black. The fruit is of normal size and the tree will last many years - they can infact grow to a ripe old age in to the hundreds of years old! Each year these Olive trees will produce more and more succulent fruit, especially if you can afford a nice bright sunny position, ideally sheltered from cold winter winds. If container growing, a place in the conservatory over winter would be even better, or sheltered against the house, where it will benefit from the warmth and sheltered provided by a wall.

The olive tree is a symbol of abundance, glory and peace. 'Extending the olive branch' dates back to the first Olympic games in 776 BC and was awarded to the winners, symbolizing the armistice of any hostility and the peace! Perhaps we should be sending these out today to a few different people! It's the perfect gift for those who deserve an apology.

Supplied as a strong attractive young tree, old enough to produce real edible olives at around 160cms tall including their nursery container. These have a clear truck and can be clipped to form a neat crown or allowed to grow larger and more naturally - the choice is yours.

looks great

My son has wanted an Olive Tree for a long time but most were over £100 and that was well over our budget so when we saw this one we thought it was worth ordering.
To be honest we were a bit sceptical but when it arrived it was well packaged and the driver lifted it into the hall for me. we were very happy when we removed the packaging The tree was in very good condition and we put it in our front garden were it is now flourishing.

Olive Trees

I purchased 3 olive trees and all 3 are very good quality. The lollipop of leaves and branches are in a good ball shape, it is more 1close to 150cm side rather than 180cm but still great value for money. The trees were very well protected and professionally packed. Overall - great experience - thank you!

The primary intended use of this plant is to grow food for human consumption.

There are thousands of different plant species that can be consumed, and our extensive range is no exception. We have conveniently listed a large number of edible plants here. Additionally, we have compiled several articles and handy recipes for some of the plants you are less likely to find in supermarkets.

We always recommend conducting your own research before consuming any plant to understand the various ways different varieties can be prepared and consumed. Be mindful of potential allergies when trying anything new and ensure it is suitable for all who may be consuming it.

Some plants or varieties can also be cultivated as animal feed for livestock, such as poultry, game, and livestock reared for consumption. Again, we advise doing your own research to select the most appropriate plants for your livestock.
