Lavatera x clementii Candy Floss
Availability: Out of stock
This variety of Tree mallow is a tough semi-evergreen shrub that can reach a height and spread of two metres.
It is a hard working plant that begins its flowering in early summer and will continue throughout the summer, bearing funnel shaped pale pink flowers that are up to seven centimetres across and are born on the current season’s growth. This Lavatera also boasts a grey green downy foliage that makes a perfect foil for its flowers.
It thrives best in a sunny sheltered spot in soil that drains well. In early spring cut back last year’s growth to encourage new flowering wood. A good mulch of compost at planting and in the following spring times will keep this shrub healthy.
Perfect plant for a dry garden setting and will also do the important job of attracting our ever important pollenating insects.
