Ligustrum argenteum - Variegated Privet

Ligustrum argenteum, commonly known as variegated privet, is a versatile evergreen shrub valued for its cream-edged green foliage that brings light and definition to the garden year-round. The oval leaves create a crisp, clean look that works equally well in formal schemes or more relaxed planting. Its dense, upright habit makes it especially useful as a hedge, screen, or structural backdrop. Small white flowers may appear in summer, adding subtle seasonal interest and attracting pollinators.

This hardy shrub thrives in full sun to partial shade and is tolerant of a wide range of soils, provided they are moist, but well-drained. Ligustrum argenteum responds well to regular clipping, making it easy to maintain a tidy shape or formal hedge, though it can also be left to grow more naturally if preferred.
