Loropetalum chinensis Ever Red (Chang Nian Hong) - Chinese Witch Hazel

Product ref: S21157

Availability: Out of stock

This new variety of Chinese Witch Hazel benefits from bright red spidery flowers appearing from late winter to early spring, shown off against extremely dark burgundy foliage. This provides a stunning compact evergreen shrub, perfect in beds and borders or sheltered patio containers. It will often also have a further flush of flowers in late summer and early autumn.

For something different and dazzling Ever Red is the perfect choice, be it in a mixed shrub border or as a specimen in a large planter. It will do best in a partially shaded position on well drained yet retentive soil with plenty of compost incorporated at planting time. Over time, Ever Red will form a neat compact bush around 75cms high and up to 100cms wide. Evergreen and winter hardy, it is the perfect choice to combine with other contrasting plants such as Nandina Lemon Lime in the garden or in a container on the terrace or balcony.

Supplied in approx. 1-2 litre containers, in season plants supplied will be covered in buds and flowers as pictured.

Chinese Witch Hazel

Item seemed to be well packed, but arrived late. I was a little disappointed that the plant had several broken twigs and, above all, the leaves and tiny blooms were much smaller than appeared in the picture.
However, I was amazed when, after planting, some of the leaves grew almost double in size, literally overnight. So I am much more hopeful that the climber will thrive! Thank you.

Very pleased

Arrived in very good condition and with a good rootball. Should have plenty of time to settle in before flowering next spring. I can see the remains of a few flowers from this year so it should produce some next year. Thanks.
