The Pea 'Alderman' is a classic heritage maincrop variety highly prized for its exceptional, sweet, and traditional flavour. Grown for its impressive size and reliability, this variety yields exceptionally long, curved, dark-green pods that are tightly packed with up to 10 large, juicy green peas. They are considerably sweeter and more robust than standard varieties, making them a true benchmark for the perfect homegrown garden pea.
Peas 'Alderman' are cool-season plants that do not do well in hot weather. For optimal growth, plant them in early spring or provide adequate shade if planting in warmer months. Because this vigorous variety can easily reach nearly 2 meters in height, it will need support in the form of sturdy trellises, canes, or pea netting to keep the heavy vines off the ground.
Supplied in approx. 1 litre containers.
