The Mangetout is highly prized for its crisp, crunchy texture and sweet, tender flavour. Eaten whole, pod and all, before the seeds inside fully develop, they are considerably crisper and less starchy than standard garden peas. These incredibly productive plants grow in abundant clusters packed with these flat, translucent, bright green pods that make a delicious addition to stir-fries or can be enjoyed raw straight from the vine.

Mangetout plants are cool-season crops that do not do well in hot summer weather. For optimal growth, plant them in early spring or ensure they are provided with some shade when planting in warmer months. To keep the climbing vines off the ground and ensure a heavy harvest, they need support, such as netting, trellises, or bamboo canes.

Supplied in approx. 1 litre containers.
