Ilex Golden King - Female Golden Variegated Holly Shrub - circa 80-100cm

Ilex 'Golden King' is a striking female evergreen holly, prized for its bold, glossy foliage edged in rich golden-yellow. Despite its name, this variety is female and produces attractive, bright red berries in autumn and winter, provided a male pollinator is nearby. The large, softly spined leaves create year-round colour and texture, making it an excellent choice for structure, contrast, and seasonal interest in the garden.

With its dense, bushy habit, 'Golden King' works beautifully as a stand-alone specimen, in mixed borders, or clipped into a formal hedge. It thrives in well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade, with the best leaf colour achieved in a sunnier position.
