Santolina chamaecyparissus - Cotton Lavender
Availability: Out of stock
Santolina chamaecyparissus, commonly known as Cotton Lavender, is a compact, evergreen shrub prized for its finely cut, silvery-grey foliage that forms a neat, rounded mound. In early to mid-summer, it produces cheerful, button-like yellow flowers held on slender stems above the foliage, creating a striking contrast against the soft, aromatic leaves and lending a crisp Mediterranean character to the garden.
Thriving in a sunny position with free-draining soil, this drought-tolerant plant is ideal for gravel gardens, low hedging, edging paths, or bringing structure to herb and Mediterranean-style borders. It pairs beautifully with Salvia × sylvestris 'Blue Marvel', Agastache 'Sunny Sparks Tangerine' and Perovskia varieties, which all complement its silvery tones and refined habit. To keep plants compact and well-shaped, lightly trim after flowering and avoid winter wet, which is more damaging than cold for this resilient shrub.
Supplied in approx 1.5 litre containers.
