Availability: In stock
Finding great specimen trees for smaller gardens or limited spaces, such as patios, can be a challenge, but we think we've cracked it for you here!
This stunning Dappled Willow (Salix integra 'Hakuro-Nishiki') will produce a stunning spring and summer display of foliage as the new shoots appear, firstly from bare branches, often with catkins present, into masses beautiful cream tinted pink new shoots, set off against white mottled and marbled green leaves, maintaining a fabulous contrast all summer look.
Very hardy and easy to grow, it only requires an annual trim in late autumn or winter to keep it compact and tidy. Fantastic in large patio planters as a feature or planted in the open garden, being a willow, it will thrive in pretty much all soils, even in challenging damp positions that don't often dry out, but needs to be grown where you can see it's delicate colours. It's not fussy at all for soil conditions, but do not let it dry out. Don't be alarmed by the bare stems and appearance in winter being deciduous.
Supplied at around 60-80cm tall in approx. 1.5-2.5 litre nursery containers with a clear stem and head of foliage forming.
