Sedum acre, commonly known as the Biting Stonecrop, is a low-growing evergreen succulent prized for its carpet-forming habit and masses of bright golden-yellow star-shaped flowers in early to mid-summer. Its fleshy green leaves create a dense mat that quickly spreads across dry, sunny areas, making it an excellent choice for consistent texture with cheerful seasonal colour. Highly attractive to bees and pollinators, this hardy alpine plant is perfect for wildlife-friendly gardens and low-maintenance landscapes.

Ideal for rockeries, gravel gardens, alpine beds and between paving stones, Biting Stonecrop thrives where many other plants struggle. It requires virtually no maintenance once established, tolerating drought, poor soils and exposed conditions with ease. Trim back wandering stems if required to keep growth tidy, although it generally manages itself. Plant in full sun and sharply drained soil for best results, avoiding overly wet conditions during winter. Excellent companions include saxifraga and other drought-tolerant alpines.

Supplied in an approx. 9cm pot.
