Sedum sexangulare, commonly known as Tasteless Stonecrop, is a charming low-growing evergreen succulent that forms dense carpets of bright green, needle-like foliage. During summer, it becomes smothered in masses of cheerful star-shaped golden-yellow flowers that attract bees and other pollinators. The foliage often develops attractive bronze or golden tones during colder weather, adding year-round interest to rockeries, gravel gardens and alpine displays.
This hardy, drought-tolerant perennial is ideal for planting between paving stones, cascading over walls, softening the edges of pathways or creating a colourful living mulch in sunny borders. Requiring very little maintenance, it thrives in poor, well-drained soils where many other plants struggle. Once established, watering is rarely needed except during prolonged drought. Avoid overly rich or wet soils, as excessive moisture can reduce vigour. Plant in full sun for the best flowering and foliage colour, and pair with other alpine plants for a beautiful, low-maintenance display.
Supplied in approx 9cm pot.
