Spiraea douglasii

Product ref: S21522

Availability: In stock

Spiraea douglasii, commonly known as Western Spiraea or Hardhack, is a deciduous shrub that makes the perfect addition to your garden. In mid to late summer, it produces dense, cone-shaped clusters of bright pink to purplish-pink flowers that attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators in abundance. Its upright, suckering growth habit and lance-shaped, dark green leaves create a full and bushy appearance, with foliage turning golden-yellow in autumn.

Hardy and easy to grow, Spiraea douglasii thrives in moist, well-drained soils and full sun to partial shade. It’s particularly well-suited to damp borders, stream banks, or as part of a wildlife-friendly hedge. This tough shrub tolerates poor soils and will grow to an ultimate height of around 80cm.

Supplied in approx. 2-3 litre containers.
