This is a superb Lilac that is superbly hardy, hailing from Canada. deciduous in nature, the shrub covers itself with tapering mid-green leaves. In late spring it erupts in to colour and scent, with large conical clusters of flower, a lovely rich purple colour, each flower spike is up to 20cms long and produces the most magificent fragrance, the delicious perfume is carried on the Spring air in any garden where this is planted, thanks to the abundance of blossoms that appear. 

This lilac is tolerant of any well drained soil in full sun or partial shade and will do particularly well for you if you've a problematic chalky soil, where other plants such as Daphnes may fail, this is the perfect perfume anti-dote, reach around 2-3 metres in height.
