Sambucus nigra porphyrophylla 'Black Beauty' Gerda - Elderberry Tree
Availability: Out of stock
A bold and beautiful deciduous tree, 'Gerda' is prized for its finely cut, almost black foliage that brings dramatic contrast to borders and beds. In early summer, it produces large clusters of pink, lemon-scented flowers that stand out against the dark leaves and attract bees and butterflies. These are followed by glossy black berries in late summer, loved by birds. In autumn, the foliage adds rich depth before falling for the winter.

Plant in a sunny or partially shaded position with well-drained, fertile soil. This striking variety is perfect for contemporary, wildlife-friendly, or cottage-style gardens where bold texture and colour are desired. Sambucus 'Black Beauty' is easy to care for, requiring only light pruning in late winter or early spring to maintain its shape and encourage bushy growth.
