‘Crimson Sentry’ is an elegant Norway maple with dark red-purple foliage. This tree is a stunning addition to any garden and makes for an excellent focal point with its striking colour. In the spring, clusters of yellow, tinged red flowers emerge, followed by dark red and green fruits in the autumn. This is a deciduous tree, so the leaves will drop for the winter and make their beautiful return in the spring.
This acer thrives in full sun to light shade and is happy in most well-drained soils, including clay, loam, or chalk. It’s particularly well-suited for urban gardens, driveways, courtyards, or as a striking architectural accent. Minimal maintenance is required; just remove dead or crossing branches in late autumn or winter. This variety pairs wonderfully with silver-foliage plants like lavender, which enhance its dark tones.
