Arabis blepharophylla Red Sensation

Arabis blepharophylla ‘Red Sensation’ is an eye-catching, low-growing evergreen perennial valued for its glossy green foliage and masses of rich, rosy-red flowers that appear in spring. The blooms are held in dense clusters above the neat mound of foliage, creating a bold splash of colour at a time when the garden is just waking up, and providing early nectar for pollinators.

Best suited to a sunny position with free-draining soil, this compact plant is ideal for rock gardens, gravel planting, raised beds, or spilling gently over the edges of paths and walls. It works particularly well in cottage-style schemes, where it can be paired with plants such as Phlox subulata 'Scarlet Flame', Geranium sanguineum, and Erysimum Erysistible. Easy to care for and resilient once established, a light trim after flowering will help maintain its tidy shape and encourage fresh, healthy growth.
