Broad Beans (Vicia faba) are hardy, productive vegetable plants. A true titan of our collection, Broad Bean ‘Bunyards Exhibition’ is adored for its exceptional reliability, heavy cropping nature, and sweet, traditional flavour. This classic English heritage variety, a gardener's favourite since the Victorian era, produces impressively long, 20cm pods packed with up to eight plump, succulent white beans that are tender and delicious whether eaten fresh or for freezing. Renowned for its superb all-round performance, it remains a premier choice for both everyday kitchen gardeners and competitive exhibition growers alike.

Thriving in fertile, moisture-retentive yet well-drained soil, ‘Bunyards Exhibition’ grows best in a sunny position and is hardy enough to support both autumn and spring sowings. Plants benefit from regular watering, particularly when the pods are setting, to encourage a generous, high-yielding harvest through the summer months. Because this vigorous heritage variety can reach heights of up to 1.3 meters, the tall stems will require staking or a framework of canes to keep the heavy bounty from bending to the ground.

Combining historic reliability with bumper crops of succulent beans, Broad Bean ‘Bunyards Exhibition’ is an essential and highly rewarding addition to any vegetable plot.

Supplied in approx. 1 litre containers.
