Rhododendron 'Ana'

A broadleaf evergreen shrub, ‘Ana’ is more versatile than other Rhododendrons boasting attractive bronze foliage as well as the characteristic vibrant blooms. Flowering in late spring and early summer, this shrub’s stunning trumpet shaped blooms display eye-catching reddish-pink colour petals, which are also speckled with bright pink along their more delicate pale pink centres. The large, lance shaped foliage surrounds the stem in circles and new growth holds delicate tones of bronze. ‘Ana’ has an upright and compact form and an average height and spread of 1.5 metres - 2 metres, making it well suited to add structure to the middle of a mixed border or can also be planted on mass to create informal hedging. Additionally, it is perfect as a statement piece in a patio planter. 

Make sure to plant this in moist but well-drained acidic soil and full sun or partial shade. It is hardy so can be planted in exposed or sheltered gardens.
