Trachelospermum jasminoides Variegata - 'Star Jasmine' Rhyncospermum

Commonly known as Variegated Star Jasmine, Trachelospermum jasminoides ‘Variegata’, is an elegant evergreen climber prized for its softly marbled foliage and intoxicating summer fragrance. The creamy white and pale green leaves create year-round light and contrast, while clusters of star-shaped, pure white flowers appear in early to mid-summer, releasing a rich, sweet perfume.

This versatile climber thrives in a sunny to lightly sheltered position with well-drained soil and is ideal for training against walls, fences, pergolas, or allowed to scramble through other shrubs as an informal groundcover. It pairs beautifully with plants such as Clematis armandii and Lavandula angustifolia, where the variegated foliage provides a calm backdrop to flowering companions. Minimal pruning is required, but it can be trimmed after flowering to control size and shape, making it a refined yet low-maintenance choice for adding structure, scent, and year-round interest to the garden.
