Cercis canadencis Carolina Sweetheart

Cercis Carolina Sweetheart is an unusual and dramatic small tree grown for its beautiful foliage as much as the profuse blooming - gorgeous pink flowers appear before any leaves at the end of Winter.

An unusual variety of Redbud, Cercis canadensis ‘Carolina Sweetheart’ has beautiful heart-shaped variegated leaves and pretty pink-purple flowers. Rich purple-maroon young leaves slowly transform to green leaves with patterned white margins. Before the leaves appear, the pink-purple flowers cover the bare, arching branches.

Cercis canadensis 'Carolina Sweetheart' is it ideal for small and medium gardens reaching around three-metre tall after around 20 years. A sunny position will result in the best flowering, and it responds well to pruning if your space is tight.
