Pumpkin ‘Crown Prince,' also known as Blue Winter Squash, is a gourmet favourite prized for its stunning slate-blue skin, dense orange flesh, and exceptional storage qualities. This variety produces medium to large, flattened round fruits typically weighing 3–5 kg, with a firm texture and a rich, nutty-sweet flavour that improves with curing. Ideal for roasting, baking, soups, and curries, it’s a staple for chefs and home cooks alike.

‘Crown Prince’ is also a reliable performer in the garden. It grows vigorously in full sun, prefers rich, well-drained soil, and matures in around 100–110 days. The strong vines produce a modest number of high-quality fruits per plant, each with thick skin that allows for storage up to 3–4 months. Its ornamental good looks and outstanding culinary value make it a standout winter squash, perfect for gardeners who want both beauty and flavour in their harvest.
