‘Kokonoe’ Clematis is a lovely brand new variety this year, the sister to our originally exclusive introduction Clematis ‘Taiga’ which remains our best selling Clematis to this day. We're sure you're also going to fall in love with Kokonoe, a special hybrid from Japan it can produce masses of flowers over a long flowering period from late Spring in to early Autumn. The ruffled double blooms have a rich opulent colour with the violet purple petals producing a luxuriant display.

Early in the year blooms may appear as single flowers, then as the season progresses the plant transforms itself in to producing more and more double flowers, until finally they are almost of a pom-pom appearance - quite a spectacle, and oh so very worth while to grow.

Trained on an obelisk as a patio specimen or perhaps used to scale walls, fences and trellis, Kokonoe it an undemanding and easy to grow Clematis that will reach around 200cms tall and 100cms wide.  It will do best in full sun or partial shade on well drained soils.
