Clethra alnifolia 'Pink Spire'

Product ref: S28723

Availability: In stock

Clethra alnifolia ‘Pink Spire’, also known as Summersweet, is a delightful deciduous shrub prized for its upright spikes of fragrant, pink flowers that appear from mid to late summer. The sweetly scented blooms are highly attractive to pollinators, bringing life and movement to the garden when many other shrubs have finished flowering. Its rich green foliage provides excellent seasonal interest, often developing attractive golden-yellow autumn tones before leaf fall.

Reaching approx. 1.5m in height and spread, this shade-loving shrub forms a neat, bushy habit that is ideal for mixed borders, woodland gardens and wildlife-friendly planting schemes. Easy to grow and low maintenance, it benefits from a light prune in late winter or early spring to remove any dead or weak growth and maintain a tidy shape. Plant in moist, acidic to neutral, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Pair with hydrangea, astilbe, and cornus for a beautiful display of colour, texture and seasonal interest.

Supplied in approx. 3 litre containers.
