Corylopsis pauciflora is a fantastic plant for a partially shady shrub border. A slow-growing, medium-sized, deciduous shrub, it holds a fabulous fragrance that will make it stand out in any garden. This Witch Hazel is best planted in a sheltered position close to an entrance or path so you can really appreciate the scent.
Delicate primrose yellow flowers are borne on bare stems in March and April, then bronzed leaves appear before maturing to a bright green.

Grow in acid soil in a semi-shade position. Corylopsis Paciflora will manage other soils but will thrive in the more acidic conditions. Constant pruning is not required but removal of damaged, diseased or crossing shoots is needed, but this should be done after flowering.
