Cucumber Plant Gherkin National

Product ref: VEG27988

Availability: In stock

Cucumber Gherkin National is a compact, productive variety that produces small, crisp fruits that are full of flavour, making it ideal for pickling and eating. These traditional gherkins are great for pickling whole or slicing into tart relishes. The plants are strong and easy to care for, making them ideal for pots, raised beds, and open ground.

After the last frost, plant in full sun with fertile, well-drained soil. Water often and train to climb to achieve better air circulation and cleaner fruit. For the finest taste and texture, harvest often while the fruits are about 5-8cm long. Companion planting with dill or nasturtiums can help repel pests and increase output.

Supplied in approx. 9cm pots.
