French Beans (Phaseolus vulgaris) are colourful and productive vegetable plants. An especially eye-catching member of our collection, French Bean 'Purple Teepee' is grown for its vivid deep-purple pods, crisp texture and dependable harvests. The smooth, slender beans grow to around 13cm long and offer a tender bite with a sweet, fresh flavour that is excellent steamed, stir-fried or enjoyed straight from the garden. The rich purple colouring makes this variety particularly ornamental in the vegetable patch, while the pods conveniently grow above the foliage for easier picking. Interestingly, the dramatic pods transform to green when cooked, adding a fun and surprising twist in the kitchen.

Thriving in moist, well-drained soil in a sunny and sheltered position, 'Purple Teepee' is an easy and rewarding dwarf variety to grow. Its compact habit makes it ideal for smaller garden raised beds and patio containers. Keep plants watered during flowering and pod development to encourage heavy cropping throughout summer and into early autumn. Regular harvesting keeps the plants productive while removing older pods promptly helps maintain vigour and prolong the season.

Supplied in approx. 1 litre containers.
