Fatshedera lizei 'Variegata'
Availability: In stock
Fatshedera lizei ‘Variegata’ is a small, versatile evergreen shrub and the perfect tropical addition to your garden! A hybrid between an Ivy and a Fatsia, this shrub combines the most desirable qualities of both parent plants. The main attraction is its unique and sizeable variegated leaves, combining the thicker and large leaf of a Fatsia with the recognisable Ivy shape and colour. Remaining all year round the leaves initially a mid-green colour and then maturing to a dark-green, with irregular cream margins sometimes creating splashes of colour across the whole leaf. In autumn it produces clusters of small white flowers which are highly attractive to pollinators. This shrub has an upright habit and can even be made to climb up supports or walls. We recommend planting this at the back of a mixed border by a trellis or wall, creating the perfect backdrop of colour to contrast other plants with and keep areas lively over winter. It is also well suited for use as ground cover in more wild or woodland areas.
Place in full sun or partial shade and make sure it is in moist but well-drained soil. This plant is hardy but should be sheltered from cold winds and harsh frosts.
Supplied in approx 3 litre containers.
