Growing to a substantial height of up to 140cms in its second year, this hardy perennial lily is classified as an LA Hybrid (a cross between Longiflorum and Asiatic lilies), it's impressive stature and light perfume, along with the bright colour make it a real favourite. Thanks to their stature, they make excellent vertical statements in perennial borders. It's not a true Sky Scraper Tree-like Lily, but it can certainly rival many of those varieties.

Liliums are featured flower bulbs due to their elegant blooms and sweet fragrance. 'Scipione' is a showy lily that produces golden-yellow flowers with a smooth satin finish through early to mid-summer. The upward-facing blooms are held above dark green foliage, bringing warmth and colour to borders, patio containers and mixed summer planting schemes. Its long-lasting flowers also make an excellent choice for cut flower arrangements.

Plant bulbs 15cm deep and approx. 20cm in fertile, moist, well-drained soil in full sun or light shade, allowing space for growth. Pair with delphiniums, salvias and dahlias for a colourful summer display.  Water regularly during dry periods and feed occasionally to encourage healthy flowering. Remove faded blooms and allow foliage to die back naturally after flowering.
