Liquidambar styraciflua

Liquidambar is a classic garden tree famed for its incredible autumn colour. For the spring and summer the leaves are green, but as the weather gets colder in the autumn this colour deepens to various shades of red, yellow, orange and purple, often with more than one of these colours showing on one tree.

This tree will grow well in any moist, well-drained soil but avoid chalk. Place it in full sun or partial shade. This is a drought resistant plant so once it is established don’t worry too much about missed waterings.
