Magnolia x loebneri 'Wildcat'

Product ref: S27073

Availability: In stock

Magnolia x loebneri 'Wildcat' is an outstanding deciduous magnolia, chosen by gardeners for its large, double, star-shaped flowers. Blooming in early to mid-spring, the spectacular pink and white blooms are densely packed with long, slightly twisted petals, creating a full and fluffy appearance that truly commands attention. The flowers emerge before the leaves, creating a dazzling display on bare branches. Compact and upright in habit, 'Wildcat' is well-suited to small and medium gardens, where it can be used as a specimen tree or placed in mixed borders for spring colour. It's healthy, mid-green summer foliage adds structure after flowering.

This Magnolia thrives in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil and prefers a sheltered position in full sun to partial shade, protected from late frosts that might damage emerging buds. Minimal pruning is needed, remove any dead or crossing branches after flowering to maintain its shape. Magnolia x loebneri 'Wildcat' is a showpiece choice for gardeners who want bold spring colour and sophisticated, architectural form.

Supplied in approx. 7 litre containers, at around at 100-120cm height
