Nerines are stunning perennials hailing from South Africa and generally flower when most other plants are fading in the garden. Nerine bowdenii 'Amandi' produces elegant clusters of soft pink, lily-like blooms atop leafless stems during autumn. The graceful, lightly scented flowers bring late-season colour to borders or patio containers, brightening the garden when other plants have finished flowering. This hardy variety combines beautifully with sedums and asters for a spectacular autumn border.

Thriving in full sun and light, well-drained soil, 'Amandi' prefers a warm, sheltered position where the bulbs can bask in the sunshine. Apply a balanced fertiliser in spring to encourage healthy growth and prolific flowering, and allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering to replenish the bulbs for the following year. Low-maintenance and long-lived, this elegant bulb will reward you with a dazzling display of colour every autumn.
