Rhodochiton Atrosanguineum - Purple Bell Vine
Availability: Out of stock
Rhodochiton atrosanguineus is an exotic-looking climber guaranteed to become a talking point in the garden. From summer into autumn, its slender twining stems are draped with extraordinary bell-shaped flowers, featuring rich burgundy-purple outer bells surrounding almost black, tubular centres. The cascading flowers look spectacular among the heart-shaped leaves when allowed to tumble from containers or climb through supports.
Fast-growing and wonderfully unusual, Purple Bell Vine is ideal for trellises, obelisks, arches, fences and large patio containers. Rhodochiton performs best in a warm, sunny and sheltered position with fertile, well-drained soil. Keep regularly watered and feed during the growing season to encourage vigorous growth and abundant flowering. Being frost-tender, protect this climber from cold conditions if you wish to keep plants for the following year. Excellent companions include clematis, which create a colourful display packed with contrasting flowers and cascading interest.
Supplied in approx. 1 litre containers.
