Rhododendron Lavendula

An elegant, compact Rhododendron that is perfect for group planting in a woodland or mixed border; it reaches one metre in height and spread and is evergreen by nature.

Waxy dark green leaves make for a sturdy proud looking shrub. The leaves become bronzy in colour as they age through the season. Their impressive party piece is in late spring when groups of Funnel shaped lavender pink flowers are born over the plants crown.

This plant will like a partially shady spot to grow in and prefers a rich loamy soil, avoid chalky soils or dry soils and plant in a container if you have those conditions. Try to avoid planting in a north facing aspect.

Do not let the ground around this plant dry out for long periods, they need moisture, so watering is important.
