Magnolia liliiflora Nigra - Circa 110-120cm
Availability: In stock
Magnolia lilliflora 'Nigra' is an amazing deciduous magnolia that produces elegant deep burgundy-purple, tulip-shaped flowers during spring, with a lighter pink interior that creates a delicate, two-tone effect. Often flowering before the foliage fully emerges, this compact shrub makes a spectacular focal point for gardens of all sizes. Its fresh green leaves provide an attractive backdrop throughout the summer before turning golden in autumn, extending its seasonal appeal.
Thriving in moist, well-drained soil, 'Nigra' prefers a sunny or partially shaded, sheltered position where its flowers are protected from late frosts. Apply a balanced fertiliser in spring to encourage healthy growth and prolific flowering, pruning only to remove damaged or crossing branches if required. Pair with camellias or azaleas for a beautiful display of early-season colour.
Supplied in approx. 5 litre containers.
