The Mexican Fan Palm originates from north-western Mexico and is also known as the Cotton Palm or Skyduster. It's one of the classic palms associated with the famous palm-lined streets of Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. As it matures, Washingtonia robusta develops a distinctive tall, slender trunk crowned by enormous fan-shaped leaves. These leaves don't just provide tropical character – on sunny days they cast dramatic, moving shadows, adding another dimension to patios and garden seating areas.
