Sambucus nigra porphyrophylla 'Black Lace' Eva - Black Elder Tree
Availability: Out of stock
A dramatic and eye-catching deciduous tree, 'Black Lace' (Eva) is admired for its dark, purple-black foliage that gives a lace-like texture to the garden. In early summer, it bursts into bloom with large, flat soft pink, lemon-scented flowers that attract bees and butterflies. These are followed by shiny black berries in late summer, which are loved by birds. As autumn arrives, the foliage deepens in colour before gently falling away.
Plant in a sunny or partially shaded position with well-drained, fertile soil. This bold variety suits modern, wildlife, and cottage-style gardens where strong foliage contrast is needed. Sambucus 'Black Lace' (Eva) is low-maintenance, requiring only light pruning in late winter or early spring to keep its shape and promote healthy, bushy growth.
Supplied in approx. 12 litre containers.
