Fragrant white flowers appear in early summer and they are followed by red fruits that darken to black with age. Like all shrubs it will enjoy an annual mulch of compost in the spring and cut out ay dead branches to make sure the air can move around the plant. This shrub will reach two meters plus height and spread so will sit perfectly in a mixed shrub border or planted to soften the corner of a small garden.
