Zinnia elegans Whirlygig Improved Mixture

Zinnia elegans 'Whirlygig Improved Mixture' is an eye-catching annual producing a dazzling mix of semi-double and double blooms in rich shades of crimson, scarlet, gold, orange, pink, cream and white from June until the first frosts. Many flowers feature striking bi-coloured petals and contrasting centres, creating a lively, carnival-like display in borders, cottage gardens and wildlife-friendly planting schemes. The long-lasting blooms are excellent for cutting and highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinators throughout summer.

Growing to around 60cm in height, this colourful mixture flowers continuously with regular deadheading and benefits from occasional watering during prolonged dry periods. Tall stems may appreciate light support in exposed locations. Plant in full sun and moist, well-drained soil for the best results. Pair with cosmos and nigella for a brilliant display of contrasting bedding and pollinator-friendly interest.
