Clematis Arabella
Availability: Out of stock
Clematis is considered by gardeners to be climbing plant royalty, and this variety certainly lives up to that title. It's a nice compact climber reaching up to a metre in height and one and a half metres in width. It is versatile by nature and is happy to grow in sunshine or partial shade. The stand-out feature of ‘Arabella’ is its stunning, large, violet-blue to lavender-purple flowers, which are double-formed in the spring but are followed by single-formed flowers in the summer. In short, this little hard-working Clematis will flower for you from May all the way through to September. The white flowers are also enhanced by the dark green leaves.
This Clematis will enjoy a good, fertile soil, free from waterlogging. Add some good, well-rotted manure when planting and cut back stems to strong-looking buds in early spring. Also, remove any dead or weak growth. The Clematis is the perfect plant for growing on a trellis to soften a hard surface or train up an obelisk to add height to a cottage-style herbaceous border.
Supplied in approx. 1 litre containers.
