Extra Large Weeping Standard - Wisteria brachybotrys Golden King - Extra Large

Commonly known as ‘silky Wisteria’, Wisteria brachybotrys is one of the most dependable woody climbers you can buy! ‘Golden King’ is unique in its ability to provide year-round interest with beautiful flowers, leaves, and seed pods. Its stunning violet-blue flowers appear in late spring/early summer in clusters 15cm-20cm long and have a lovely, sweet fragrance. Its twining stems are fast growing, developing anticlockwise and bear large green leaves which turn a bright golden yellow in autumn. The seedpods give it the common name as they have a soft, silky appearance and are present throughout winter.

Wisterias require significant support, so we recommend growing it up a trellis, wall, or pergola. Sold as a standard, this climber is already well established at 1.5-1.7 metres in height. This climber will grow happily in any soil type that is moist and well-drained. Preferring full-sun or partial shade, ‘Golden King’ needs shelter and a large amount of light.
