Purple Pitcher Plant - Sarracenia purpurea Venosa - Carnivorous Plant

The Purple Pitcher plant is a carnivorous plant and has clusters of tubular leaves which is where the insects and other small bugs become trapped.

The pouch like leaves can have purple hues or purple veins making them rather interesting .

They prefer a well-draining compost mix and to be in full sun, be sure to water regularly in the spring and summer months and less frequently during winter but do keep the soil moist.
