Selecting the right plants for a small garden doesn't need to be a worry or concern as we have a carefully curated selection of plants that will thrive in a smaller space. There are lots of tricks and tips to make the most of a small garden so be bold and adventurous when you look to buy new plants. A few of our favourite ideas for a small garden are:

-Pick a garden style and select plants that suit it
-Add height to the garden - use climbers such as Clematis on trellis and structures to add height
-Add a feature amongst your planting to add interest - try a container with an Acer for impact
-Add the same plant in multiple positions to link the whole space together

If your small garden has shade areas or is north-facing try planting some Hostas, ferns and shrubs such as Skimmias, Azealeas and Fatsias that thrive in these conditions. Small gardens don't need to be a compromise, be bold and creative. All of these plants are great for small urban gardens, terrace house gardens and balconies which can be difficult to find suitable plants for.
